I am a CISSP certified cybersecurity professional and a compliance expert.

I have over 13 years of experience in cybersecurity and compliance.

Furthermore, I have worked in environments that I had to do both cybersecurity and compliance for in a web development environment, for a small software development group, and for a state government agency.

With the small software development company, I completed a SOC 2 certification from nothing to fully SOC 2 compliant in all 5 areas.

I have also reversed a phishing email and found the data center that the email originated from, and then contacted the data center to have the server shut down.

I have also had to deal with Linux web servers being compromised due to multiple web applications not updating the frameworks. Then I worked with the developers, system administrators, and government security personnel to remove the vulnerability, rebuild the web servers, update the file system permissions, and update the web security devices.

I am enthusiastic about cybersecurity, as it allows me to protect others both in an electronic and physical way. Being in cybersecurity allows me to not only protect people in cyber areas and physical, it also allows me to train people on how to keep safe. Which allows those who I train to also impart the information to their families.

This means it is not only allows a few people to be affected, it allows whole families to be affected. I am also able to improve how people work when they have the correct tools for their jobs, and then they realize that the technology is there to help them rather than hinder them. This has been a passion of mine, protecting others, since I can remember.

I remember trying to protect my sister when we were young. This is one of the reasons I went into the Navy; which was to serve and protect this great nation of ours.

- I helped secure 50 different web applications by running vulnerability scans and working with development teams to update application code to secure the applications.
- I oversaw a team to update 300 servers hardware in multiple data centers.
- I ran multiple assessments covering 2 FISMA boundaries.
- I took a company through their first SOC 2 compliance to fulfill their contractual obligation.
- I helped move servers and networking equipment from one data center to another.
